Awning

I just purchased my first pop up camper. It is a 2007 jayco. The bag awning that is on it, is ripping apart. Where should I purchase a new one or should I try to sew up the part that is ripped?

We have resewn awnings in the past sometimes with a machine and sometimes by hand. They sell a string on a bobbin at Walmart that is stronger than what was originally used and it has held together for years.

I used a sewing awl designed for sewing leather, and a polypropylene thread. It was slow, but fixed the problem and appears stronger than original.
