Beds and Condensation

Hi
New to the board.
I have a 2002 Jayco pop up trailer the I bough new 14 years ago.We use it every season and the last 3 years or so we noticed "wet bed ends" under the mattress - even when there is no rain.

My only conclusion is condensation building overnight, but what makes no sense to me is that the outside will be dry but inside under the mattress will be wet.

I was told also now that the wood is getting old under the mattress ,if you dry it out and it looks dry the old wood could still be containing moisture/

Any body with similar experiences ? and solutions?

I am thinking of replacing the wood and putting waterproofing on the outside side of the wood that folds out

Different temps and humidity conditions between the inside and outside of the camper is the culprit. Venting the tent ends (even in the winter) can help. Had the same problem with my pop-up. In my case, the inside being warmer combined with the natural humidity from people inside sleeping and the colder outside temps caused major condensation in the tent ends. We learned early on to vent the tops of the ends and any other zippers that could be vented at the top. I assume in your case it's body heat-to-outside temperature that's causing the condensation. Other than venting, not sure what else can be done.

This has been addressed several times already. Check out the second link in post #9 here.
