Cartridge toilet question

So we've got a 14SO popup. Thought I would go ahead and empty the toilet cartridge today even though it wasn't really full. So I step outside and attempt to move the external half-door out of the way. Uh-oh. It barely moves before it hits the main camper door near the hinge. I can barely open it far enough to open the toilet cartridge access door. And there is NO way to actually *remove* the cartridge. In order to do so, it appears that I have to remove the main door (including untucking all the canvas). That is ridiculous!

Am I missing something here?

Our half door just lifts up and off the hinges. It's stored under the rear bunk when popped up. See if you can lift the door off to gain access to the cassette door.

Seems logical. Unfortunately the prior owner appears to have replaced the original hinge with a piano-type hinge. Which is ok for now, but a new hinge is definitely going on my to-do list...
