City Water
Hello!
A newbie question! How can the camper choose beteween tank water or external source when the city water in connected? is anything I need to move to select water tank or city water?

There is an automatic check valve that separates the two. No need to do anything different. Just fill the water tank and turn on the water pump for tank use, or hook up a hose to the city water inlet for water hookup use, leaving the water pump off.

That question was on my mind too and it wasn't until I saw the plumbing schematic some other forum member posted that it all made sense!

All you need is a fresh water hose to hook from your trailer to the water hookup in the Campground, and a water pressure regulator to make sure the pressure in the Campground is not too high for your RV`s plumbing system. I recommend the hose be at least 25' in length. Fairly inexpensive items.

I also use one of these to help relieve the stress on the hose....
You can also get a 90 degree if it works better in your situation..

Pressure regulator goes at the campground tap NOT as it enters the RV (less chance to explode the hose that way)

I agree.., an outside water pressure regulator is a must for all RV's. Even though the tubing used within an RV may be rated for 125psi, plus the manufacture may test the system at 100psi, most RV plumbing systems are designed to operate at 40psi to 60psi, depending on the year of the RV.
Not unusual to see 80psi to 100psi coming from a CG spigot, and possibly higher when the CG pumps kick on..., or during non-peak times if the CG is tied into a municipal water system.

I definitely agree with the pressure regulator. This was the pressure at a state park in Florida where I was a host last summer and where I will be again this coming summer.

Hmmmmmm, that has me stumped. I wonder if it could be a defective check valve.

Not familiar with the pop ups. Maybe ask on one of the pop up forums. It can't be to hard to trouble shoot the problem. Are there any valves or tanks involved?

This plumbing diagram may help you but being unfamiliar with popups, I just know don't how much they differ. Not all RVs have everything shown in this diagram but it's a pretty good overview.

Check the lines near the pump for valves that could be turned off. The valves in my 1007 are manual not one way.
