Controversy continues

Hi, some people have said the attached photos show a sink drain outlet while others say it's a fresh water port for adding fresh water. Someone said that because it's a male pipe with threading, that indicates a drain port. Others have said it's too high up on the camper to be a drain port. Obviously, the next time I open my camper I will add some water to my sink and see if any water comes out of this port. Until then, I don't know. Any answers?

If it has male threads it is the drain from your sink.. you can hook a short section of hose to it and let the water drain into a bucket or portable waste container... to find out, dump water in the sink and see where it goes...

I agree, sink grey water drain outlet. I believe some of the earlier, smaller Jayco pop-ups came with a removable fresh water container and a hand pump at the sink.

there is a video of a 1993 1006 on youtube That shows both the heater and the sink and that should be the same as your 1992 1006 That is the sink drain

No. It looks to be a fresh water tank fill. I do not believe a sink drain would be that high...

My fill port on my Starcraft 14 R/T POPUP has a little pull-out piece that lets you rest the 5-gallong jeri-can pour noozle on it... Mine is located on the access door side and my sink drain is on the opposite side

Why wouldn't it be that high? It's below the bottom of the sink and I seriously doubt there is a holding tank inside.

Also, if it was a freshwater fill, why would it have male threads? The end of a water hose that isn't connected to a faucet has a male thread since it's standard for faucets to have a male thread.

Of course, the safest way to go would be to do as the OP mentioned in his first post: pour water in the sink to see where it comes out.

It will become very clear when you pour some water in the inside sink drain.

My first popup did not have any facilities, except two hard beds.

Doesn't need to be an X-files episode. You'll know 10 minutes after you have your camper available, and a water hose. My guess is it's for filling your fresh water tank - unless you have already found another spot for that?

There is no staining under the drain (if it was a drain), and based on the age of this unit, you would most likely see some indication if grey water ever came out of that hole in any decent quantity.

All of my old school popup's drained off the bottom of the frame somewhere. Doesn't look like that is designed to drain water, not that it isn't possible, just unlikely from what I've seen.

Again its a sink drain And yes it may not show any stains if a drain hose was connected

I had a similar Jayco many years ago and that is the same fitting I had to use to drain the sink Also my model did not have any fresh water fill or holding tank

Just look under the sink and see if the drain hose under the sink attaches to that port. I wouldn't dump water anywhere unless I know for sure where it is going to go!

Will a garden hose screw to that fitting? The fresh water fill (which looks like that pic) on mine has male threads but coarser and a garden hose will not connect to it. My sink drain though similar, I can screw a garden hose to it. That may be another clue in this mystery.

This is the best advice I've seen so far!

It's not uncommon for sink gray water outlet threads being larger then standard 3/4" hose connections. There are RV adaptors specifically made for connecting to a pop-up's larger sink outlet drain threads....., thus accommodating the standard female hose connection:

To those that said SINK DRAIN you are 100% correct

To those that said anything else you are 100% wrong

View the attached video link

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...1g-LOWUQ8uiRLg

The OP has a 1992 model year The video is of the same model but for 1993 year

Notice the OP's pictures Pay attention to the drain and also to the furnace exhaust
Then view the video and notice the sink and the furnace below thee sink

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words Well the video says much more

Its a sink drain
