Driver tail light not working

Our driver tail light isn't working. No blinker, reverse, brake lights. However, When the truck lights are on, the light works but still not blinker or brake lights. It isn't the bulbs and we cleaned any corrosion. Can someone offer some insight?

Bad ground? Check voltage at truck to make sure you're getting power from the truck.

Check the trailer connection for power to that side brake & turn are the same element tail lights another. If none check tow vehicle fuses each side fuse separate. How old is the TV? Chance thee turn signal switch has gone bad?
Time to get out the test light or volt meter.

It wont be the ground as the light would not work at all... Since it is a twin filament bulb did you check to make sure the one filament was not burnt out? Use a VOM to see if there is power to that light with someone stepping on the brake.. if not then check the 7 way plug to see if there is power to it for that light.. Since you have not told us what truck or trailer you have it is hard to guess past that..

+1 to using a VOM to check at the fixture, then at the 7-way on the back of the truck. I'm betting it will be a fuse in the truck.

It's happened to me before, but it was because I pinched the cord and ended up with all kinds of bad things happening.
