Electric Water Pump

Have a 2011 Jay Series 1007. Wondering if the water pump has a switch to turn on the pump or will it turn on if it senses demand for water?

Looking online it looks like the pump power switch is on the face of the sink cabinet. When power is on the pump will run when you turn on the faucet, it will shut off after you turn off the faucet and the system builds the pressure back up. The only time I turn the switch off is when traveling and sitting at home.
