Freshwater issue

I have a 2013 Baja 12E and can't get it to take on a full load of water from the city feed. I am running the pump and have a faucet slightly opened to allow air bubbles to escape. What am I doing wrong?

Are you sure you need the pump with the city water pressure? Not familiar with your setup but it sounds wrong.

You can't fill the onboard tank from the city water feed.

There is a check valve to prevent this.

You will find a dedicated fill port to fill the tank.

The pump is only used to pump water FROM the tank to the faucet.

So the only way to fill the holding tank is by the gravity feed port???

Some Jayco models have the option but not using the pump and city water.

Yes, to fill tank use gravity feed port, than you can use water pump. If you have city water hook up than you do not need pump or water in tank.

City water is already under pressure, so you don't need the pump. When the FW tank is being utilized, the water just sets there. It's not under pressure, so you need to use the pump to "suck" the water through the system. I guess on most models, there's no way to fill the FW tank(s) using the pump. You have to fill them using the gravity feed inlet, then turn the pump on to pressurize the system. Opening a faucet or two was a good idea, though, to allow air to escape the water lines. Also not a bad idea to "burp" the water heater by opening the pressure release valve for a few moments.

As you are probably aware alot of city water pressure various alot. We gravity fill our freshwater tank alot even at city water sites and then use our water pump to provide water. We know what that water pressure is going to be...

I carry a water "TEE" and hook this up to the city water port on the pedestal, Then I run a second water hose and hang it on the trailer deck to use for outside things. Its pretty easy to fill the freshwater tank using the water hose sprayer...
