Gap near screen door

Hello everyone, my wife and I are newbies to the pop up camper family. We bought a 1997 Jayco 1406 and immediately began a major renovation. I'll post pics soon.

One of the many things we've done is clean and re-waterproof the canvas. It's actually close to looking new again!

Here's the problem: We have the camper roof up and the canvas tucked into place along the sides of the screen door frame. However, there is an open gap near the very top of the screen door on each side. It looks like theres supposed to be a small piece of canvas that velcros into place to close the gap. Am I correct about this?

Welcome to the forum!!

Sure sounds like there should be a "closeout" piece of something there. My Coleman had flaps with Velcro that would fold over to hide these gaps. Can't imagine Jayco wouldn't do the same. Hopefully someone here will have an answer for you shortly. Hang in there!
