Hello from Scotland - help with lift system needed

I've just started on a rebuild of a 1986 Conway Tardis which is an 86 Jayco hard top body imported by Conway and then mounted on an alko chassis suitable for the uk.

We have another camper so this was just meant to be a fun retro camper.....however decades of the British weather have taken its toll.

The roof is completely gone so I am in the process of having to completely rebuild it, none of the wood work is of any use at all so new frame and sides needed.

One cable is snapped, which should be simple enough to replace but I'm having trouble finding a diagram showing the correct route for the cables round the pulleys.

One telescopic pole has jammed and won't go fully down, stopping about 30cm before it should.

Unfortunately there are very few hard top campers here in the UK and so very little help on the forums......with most of the older ones gradually being scrapped.

If anyone can point me in the right direction for help with an older Jayco models lifting system that would be much appreciated. It's the six berth model with the dinette directly opposite the door if that's any help but I'd guess that the lift system is the same on them all at that age.

Thanks

Danny

Try googling "Jayco Pop Up Cable Diagrams" or "Jayco Cable Diagrams." I saw several diagrams in the "images" section using those search terms, but have do idea if they are helpful or not.

Also check the resource suggested by @Bedrck46 in the second post on this thread: http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f8...ems-44587.html
You might find the specific diagram for your mechanism there.

Thanks for the reply

I did find the link to the Cunningham Camper site earlier and I've already downloaded the three pdfs that they have in their resource section.

I've also saved a few images from online of diagrams for the cable routes. Ideally though I'd like to make sure that its the correct diagram for that model, but have no idea which Jayco model it was that Conway imported and that company is no longer in existence so can't ask.

Hopefully the cable system will be fairly generic to all the Jayco models....

Thanks.......hadn't thought of that!

The VIN won't mean anything to them as the chassis is an Alko one supplied here in the UK by Conway......

Or is there a VIN plate somewhere in the camper itself rather than the chassis that I haven't noticed?
