Jay Series Sport Hardwall or "Aframe" owners

Apparently in 2015 Jayco introduced an A frame unit to their camping trailer or popup lineup. Staff would like to know how many own these units and if there is a need or interest in a separate forum for them. Comments welcomed here.
That category has also been added to the popup poll.

Yes please. Owner of a 2016 HMD. I get a little confused on wether to search pop ups or travel trailers. I've found a lot of people who own these little campers are always looking for mod tips. Storage, awning etc.

Jayco places them in the "camping trailer" category which is also considered popups. Travel trailer is another line.

Count me in, owner of a 2016 12 HFD A frame. It would be nice to have a spot for A frame info. Thanks.

Thanks, Sundancer330! I wonder if other a frame owners are just going to other sites. I have looked for useful info on the aliner and rockwood sites. Hopefully enough will reply so we can get a spot.

I haven't found much info on this site related to A frames. I find a lot of good tips and info on the Forest River Forums, they have been building them longer so more owners.

I take that as a "yes" vote for the a-frame category, Hubbabubba51. Thank You. I noticed that the Forest River Forums have more participation in general, so maybe they sell more campers? Seems like I see a lot of Jaycos when I am out. I am hoping if we have a sub-forum, more jayco a-frame owners will notice and participate. Thanks again.

Well after two model years (2015-16) Jayco has discontinued the Aframe campers (Jay Series Sport Hardwall). I went to look at the Jayco website last week to see what the 2017 models looked like, all I found was the 2016 info with a note Dealer stock only. I sent a email to Jayco asking about the 2017 models and they responded discontinued third quarter 2015 and only models available are on dealer lots. I was curious why so I placed a call to my salesman but he is off today, will try him some other day. I hope it was just slow sales and not a problem with the camper, seems like a big investment for only two model years, started selling late summer 2014 thru late summer 2015.

Maybe is has something to do with Thor acquiring Jayco recently. I don't know. I bought a 2016 HMD this spring.

Poor sales might explain why I have seen many other Jaycos, but I have never seen a Jayco aframe on the road or at a campground. Too bad we never got our own forum. I end up going to forest river's a lot. We can be the few and the proud.

Whats with this Thor aquiring Jayco stuff?
I just traded my 2015 12HSB in last week, on a Jayflight Slx. I had always thought the a-frame concept was cool, and when Jayco came outwith one, i was hooked. Yes, it does go up in less than a minute, and great to tow. Ours had a few issues, but our biggest concern was when i noticed one of thefront skylites leaking. I hate water leaks..... i've gone thru the Lite Hawk water leak disaster. When i realized theyhad stopped buildingthem, i went online and did some shopping, and when we were offered a good price on ourtrade, we went for it. Ifnot, we would have kept it...... we loved it, a terrific trailer. The biggest problem.... too much $ for them.

We owned an Aliner for a couple of years. It was a great product - tight as a drum and very durable. I was a member of the Aliner Owner's Forum. They had really good information and lots of mod tips.

Was on our Dealer's website the other day and i was browsing thru the used pop-up section, and noticed the 12HSB we had traded in in July is back on their lot. It was sold shortly after we had traded it in, and now it's back. Can tell it's was ours because they used the same stock #, also the emergency exit sticker on the big window was stuck on upside down! They really are great little trailers. Not sure if you can blame it on slow sales, or the fact that Starcraft no longer builds a pop-up, Jayco is down to one series .... think they are using all possible manufacturing space for profitable travel trailers etc.

Same here I had a 2002 aliner sport and upgraded to the 2015 12 bsb model I like it but wish there was a little bit more bed space at least a queen I'm woundering if the space that's closed off in the fro until can be opened up I think with that space a queen will fit if anyone has tried it I would appreciate some feed back thanks

I sealed my skylights and fan housing a few months after buying my unit, I didn't have any leaks but wanted to stay ahead of any future problems. After researching products I really wanted to use the 3M Extreme Tape but the minimum purchase was six rolls at about $80 a roll, So I ended up using two inch black Eternabond tape, cleaned the roof and skylight edge real good then applied the tape. If you go this route make sure you purchase the Eternabond roller, its expensive but it weighs about two pounds and helps with the bonding, as I rolled over the tape I could see the adhesive oozing from under the tape edge assuring a good bond. After a few days I sealed all the tape edges with clear OSI Quad caulk, This is what Jayco said was used to seal the skylight at the factory. This problem seems to affect all Aframe campers not just Jaycos, you can now order the Forest River Aframes without any skylights I would sure go this route if I was ordering. We camped along Lake Michigan last summer on the beach with 50mph plus winds and a dumping of rain for hours and no leaks anywhere.
