Lift noise

Hello. I have a 2013 1206. Does anyone have issues with their lifts making a lot of noise while lifting? With mine it gets hung up and I have to go down a little and then up again. I have to do this several times before it gets all the way up. Is this normal?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Electric? Ours would do the same. Jayco told me this is normal. Having fully charged battery helps too.

Yes, electric, and yes, I too was told it is normal. I think they need a more powerful motor and better lube on this electric lift system.

Sounds like a little lubrication of the lift poles may be needed.

Thing is, Jayco says not to lube the lift poles. I don't know, but I think somethings not right, or it was not tested thoroughly. You can't even lift it manually, it would take you forever.

I have a 1006 and it lifts steady with no un welcome noises what-so-ever. Maybe its the same pump-motor for 12 with the added weight I can see that happening

I have the same trailer as you and mine is noisy but it has always been like that. It sometimes jerks on the way up. I think the noise is normal but not the jerkiness.

Its normal. The jerkiness is caused by the cables on the crank. Over time they kind of wrap over themselves causing a jerkiness when they snap as they are being released. If you take apart the dinette or what ever is in front where the lift crank is you can watch this happening and then it all makes sense.

As far as lubrication I used to spray silicone on the lift poles when we had our '93 1208. But never lube the push rods or crank system.

It doesn't jerk, it stops. To get it to go up further, I have to make it go down a little, then back up and hope it gets passed where it stopped. I have to do this several times to get it up all the way. Normal, I hope not...

I would say that a 2013 is too new to have an issue like this. Call jayco or your dealer

my 2014 1207 is doing the same thing.Yesterday I was raising the roof, i stopped for a second and when i went to raise it some more it would not move. I had to lower it an inch and then it would go back up. I'm starting to think the quality of Jayco is starting to slip.

The cables are binding more than normal then. If was out of warranty the fix is to open the inside and watch the cables when having someone lower the roof (by the hand crank) and slowly reguide the cables. Since in warranty I'd be making an appointment with the dealer.
