Plans ?

So anyone booked their summer plans for camping.

Our only booked trip so far is Mackinaw, Mi, Labor Day weekend. They open the Mackinaw bridge on Labor Day to foot traffic. I hope to make the walk over the mighty Mac.

Advice: Custer state park, end of September, they round up their buffalo Hurd, 1300 head. It is so cool. We stayed at Sylvan Lake CG, part of Custer state park. Near by attractions: the bad lands, mt Rushmore, crazy horse, needles highway.

2 weeks on the Saco river, and 1 week from MA to Williamsburg, VA. Not looking forward to the long trip to VA, but I'm hoping I can make that drive in 1 day.

Taking several weeks to travel down though British Columbia and a bit of Alberta. Rest of the summer will be weekend camping trips in Yukon and Alaska.

2 weeks to go to Yellowstone in September. I was hoping to have more plans but with no relief driver it looks like I'm working 6 days a week all summer again. Sigh.

Just started booking our 23 day trip to the East coast. We are spending 3 days in Quebec City KOA, 2 days at Bay of Fundy National Park, 3 days in Halifax @ Peggy's Cove, 2 days Cabot trail, 4 days in PEI @ Twin Shores CG then gradually make our way back home. Very excited and if this goes well we are going to plan a West coast trip next year.

You folks have some excellent trips planned.
We're going to Granbury TX for a long weekend (the annual Wine Walk) Apr 24.
May 7 we're leaving for a visit to Pea Ridge AR and Vicksburg MS.
In the planning stage is a visit to WDW. Currently thinking October.

Tell me more! This sounds like a trip I need to plan next year! Sounds like a great way to blow off steam after a rough tax season!

As it stands, we only have our one trip this weekend booked. I'm afraid it's going to bite me later when all the parks are full...

Hey Bob, here 'ya go.
http://granburywinewalk.com/
This is our first visit so we don't really know what to expect but it sounds fun and they do mention the "magic word" (hint, hint: it's wine).

We've also got a long weekend in June at the local Jellystone with the g'son, oh yeah his parents are coming too.

Where are you staying? Looks like there are a few choices in RV parks. I would be VERY interested to hear about your experience, and maybe even see some pics.

Yeah, there weren't many parks to choose from. We're staying here: http://www.campingfriend.com/MidwayPinesRVPark/ It looks like an OK park with mostly full-timers and has some pretty good reviews. It's also close to Glen Rose which we wanted to look over to see if it might be a destination our g'son would enjoy (dino tracks).

RedHorse1: That should be a good trip. My wife and I are big Civil War buffs. I have been to Vicksburg but never made it as far as Pea Ridge.

We are going to Chattanooga in early June and will visit Chickamauga and the other sites while we are there. Might also stop at a few along the way. Have a great trip!

Hey Scott,
We're looking forward to it. Pea Ridge gets some great reviews from CW buffs. We visited Memphis in Oct '12 and spent the day at Shiloh which we completely enjoyed.
You enjoy your trip too! And keep the shiny side up.

Jellystone Park in Tabor City, NC for Easter. Jordan Lake SP for Memorial Day. With our house move coming up quickly, that is all we have on the books right now. Hoping for more, we will see how it goes.
