Replacement Canvas

I am looking to purchase new canvas for my Jayco Popup. One of the two common suppliers asked for the VIN number so they could order the canvas from Jayco. Can I just go directly to Jayco and buy the replacement canvas?

You will have to go through a dealer to buy from Jayco, they won't sell direct. There are a few dealers that sell online with better pricing than local dealers and they will have items shipped direct to you from Jayco. For canvas you may be better off buying from one of the aftermarket companies, just do a Google search.

Other people on some other forums I've been a member of have had success with Bear Creek Canvas. I've never needed their services, but I've heard good things about them.

replacement canvas

I had great luck with Bear Creek. Since my pup was older, I had to remove the existing canvas and send it to them. They returned a great replacement.

I purchased A new canvas last summer from a Jayco dealer in Indianna. I have a 2004 12FSO. Complete canvas was less than $600 with shipping. They made it when I ordered it and got it to me in 4 weeks!! BearCreek wanted almost $1500. Food for thought

What was the name of the dealer in Indiana? I rent out my pop up and the people burned a hole in the canvas. So need a new canvass for my 07 jayco Jay series pop up.

Sometimes you get what you pay for though. Be sure your comparing apples to apples. Bear Creek does a lot of upgraded features over stock canvas. Not saying the Indiana dealer isn't good stuff, just be sure you research why it's hundreds of dollars cheaper first!

I too ordered canvas through a local dealer. Canvas Replacements simply resells the factory Jayco canvas - they indicate as much on their website for canvas that Jayco still sells. I called a couple local dealers near me - I simply went to the Jayco website, searched for Jayco dealers and called their parts department. The one in Ft. Worth near me wanted $800 or so, and couldn't quote shipping until it was delivered. I called another dealer further out in Sherman, and they quoted me a much cheaper price, around $500.

I looked at Bear Creek, but felt their upgrades were not worth it. In my case Jayco upgraded the canvas from the 1999 kind I had, which was a very heavy/thick cotton based backing to the vinyl outer layer, with no side windows on the dinette. The newer canvas is a more neutral color which I prefer, has side windows with zippered panels on the dinette, and is a lighter synthetic fabric on the backing. It is easier to set up, and takes up a little less space when collapsed. I was already maxed out with my mattress toppers, but I can tell with the new canvas it is easier to get the roof latched - I don't have to wait for it to compress the topper a little before getting the latches secured.

I highly recommend you simply contact your local Jayco dealers. On mine there was a part number up under the roof, secured to the canvas by the dinette. The dealer was able to cross reference to the new replacement part and we were in business.

Bonus - I got brand new lift post covers as well. I don't recall seeing that on Bear Creek or Canvas Replacements. Mine were pretty grungy and stained from the PO, so I was happy to find them in the box.

Bear Creek comes with pole covers too. I liked the upgrades but agree it's hard to justify twice the cost if it's a good product your receiving. Mine was a 92' Cardinal SD and the new canvas was an earth tone neutral color instead of the Blues and Creams of the old color way.

It’s been a few years now, but I think I paid around $800 or more
