Rubber ripped on canvas.

98 Jayco Eagle 12so.

The rubber "welting", I think thats what its called. Has ripped in half on my popout.

As you can see, the rubber has ripped in 1/2. This has happened on both
corners of the popout

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I would check with a local boat or marine upholstery shop. They may have access to the plastic track and be able to repair it fairly inexpensively. Or you can call

Canvas Replacements

And see if they have the part you need.

Our canvas was almost 22 years old when it let go like that. we had to replace it but for over 2 years I used 2 pieces of hard plastic and sandwiched that j strip (the piece that has come unsewn) and pop riveted them together worked very well but eventually the ends of canvas roof line blew out so it was beyond repair 24 year old real canvas was paper thin. Good luck. New canvas was a piece of cake to replace and sooo much cheaper than a new camper. bought our 806 new in 1991 and still love it today.

Thanks for the suggestion. I found some heavyduty water proof "duct tape". Ended up just using that for now. There is a few more places that are ripped, so Im thinking next year we might just replace it.
