vin plate

i'm new to this forum,but can anyone here tell me if its possible to get a new vin plate for my pop up camper,the original one is unreadable.........thanks and have a nice day

As you haven't had a response yet, perhaps a good start would be to contact Jayco direct who may suggest checking with your local Department of Motors Vehicle's for your state. Let us know how it goes

no answer from the d.m.v. yet,,,but have another question,wanted to check the inside electrical plus in this 1983 jayco "J" 706 and found that the two electrical outlets have 24 volts but when i plug something into them ,the item i plug in doesn't work,what could be the problem ?it has a breaker box with a 15 amp breaker could this be the problem ?the only electrical parts this camper has are the 2 plugs............please help

There are no 24V items in a camper. The outlets are only 110V and only when plugged in to shore power (110v AC source). The lights in your popup are 12V. So is the water pump. There is a converter that converts 110VAC to 12VDC to operate the lights and charge the battery.

With more information we can go further.

BTW you might check the frame. Sometimes the VIN can be found stamped on it somewhere.

have another question : this camper does not have a battery hook up for powering the lights,how can install a battery service in this camper to run the lights ? need basic diagram or detailed instructions not electrically inclined to do this...thanks and have a nice day.........
