What is this for?

Can anyone tell me what this is? Its attached to the underside of the roof. It seems like some sort of sender unit to tell when the roof is wound up or down. Its got wires off it that go down behind the sink but I cant see where they go. I have a 2004 Jayco Eagle. Cheers

This maybe a switch to shut off power to the inside lights when the roof is lowered. we had a similar device on our Jayco Eagle popup. I wish I had one on our Rockwood popup because I left the inside light on and lowered the top. when I opened it again there was a burn mark on the canvas

That's exactly what it is.
