Winter Doldrums

There are a couple of things I have noticed since I joined this forum last year. You folks are very knowledgeable in all things camping and are very willing to help people out when they need it. Since I'm new to camping and needed to do a few things to my new to me 2006 1207 I've already been helped out a couple of times. The other thing I'm finding out, is even though winter will not allow me to camp or even piddle with the camper reading these post help starve off the Winter Doldrums while waiting on spring! Does anyone else feel this way. Thanks!

I for one do. We love camping and are always figuring out how to work a short trip in. We are not limited by weather so much as caring for older MIL.

Reading does help a bit. BUT the trailer to-do list keeps getting longer, as does the places to go list, and I have a tad bit of camping envy reading about folks that are now camping in warmer climes.

Really bad when you are 72 hours from heading out on a trip to warmer places. [See my thread Winter trip delayed]. No doldrums though as the aftermath of yesterdays storm will keep me plenty busy for the next 2 days. Still have to figure out how to get about 7,000lbs of TT and gear up a 150 yard up hill gravel drive that is currently blocked by fallen trees and a foot of snow.

I like to think it helps. I am retired, but still work so DW and I can have more fun tickets. However, I work a two week on two week off schedule. During my two weeks on, I have lots of time so I visit the forums quite often. It's great to see what people are doing and where they are going and what they get etc. and so on.
I have been involved in camping all my life and owned several RVs of different platforms, I have done major rebuilds and minor repairs. I cannot even pretend to add up the miles I have driven and towed things, along with recounting backing maneuvers and getting trailers in and out of hairy scary situations.
Yet, even with my experience, the people on this forum are helpful and I manage to keep an open mind. I can honestly say, I still learn more from newbies to masters almost every time I log in. I am constantly getting fresh ideas for improvements and fixes.
