I have discovered that the Ford f53 Chassis is listed as a 2014 while the entire coach was sold by Jayco as a 2015?

Are your chassis listed with the dmv as the same year as the jayco coach model?

Pulled out the chassis manual and it too is a manual for a 2014 model f53 chassis.....

This must be a Jayco "thing". Our first Jayco was a 2011 Greyhawk model, but the chassis was manufactured by Ford in August, 2010. Our new 2016 Precept has a chassis that was built by Ford in March, 2015. (My husband keeps detailed lists of this type of info!!)

Yes that happens. In NJ they had to disclose chasis date at closing. They said the VIN is assigned when the chasis is done and the chasis model year and the motorhome model year can be different. Kinda makes sense. Sort of.

Yep, our chassis is 2014 but the MH is 2015. When register the VIN list our unit as a 2015.

I sent a letter to Jayco about this issue and they sent me a one page letter explaining that the chassis is a 2014 but the motorhome is a 2015 model and the letter is signed by an officer of Jayco and references my chassis and unit number. It states that if the DMV lists if on their records as a 2014 that this letter should suffice to change this on the dmv records to show it is a 2015 model as far as Jayco is concerned.

I need to check with the dmv to see how it is listed. When i took it in to have the alignment done they discovered that the chassis number indicated it was a 2014 chassis.

The Ford service dealer also told me that my Ford warranty started in 2014 despite my unit being purchased new in June 2015. I still have yet to clarify this issue with Ford/Jayco - I've either been on the road in the RV or at work paying for it!

I will have to send a letter to the jayco representative about the Ford chassis warranty starting date-- seems very important.....

I am having Bertha serviced tomorrow at our Ford Truck store. I will make some inquiries.
I am leaning toward the warranty not starting until the vehicle is sold/titled. If you buy a "new" car off the dealers lot that has been on the lot for a year, the warranty begins when sold/titled.

Ok here is the scoop from my Ford truck service advisor. The Jayco dealer is responsible for contacting Ford when a MH is sold. At that time Ford will move the "start warranty" date to the date of sale.
This info along w/dates was in the printout when my advisor entered my serial # in the computer.
It showed..date when the chasis rolled off the line, date delivered to Jayco & date we bought it as the beginning date for the 3 year warranty.
Have a Ford truck service center run your vin. If your warranty start date is prior to your purchase, see your dealer you bought it from. Hopefully they can make it right.
