I suspect I misunderstand that question
But the inverter provides power to the AC plug by converting the DC power from the battery or generator. When plugged into shower power I assume the plugs get power from shore and the inverter isn't needed - though I'm not sure about that. (They do say that the inverter is always *on* when you're plugged in, whether you have hit the inverter power button and turned on its display or not.)
