I have decided I want to replace my Girard WH with a traditional tank-style heater. While the Girard works "okay" when I leave it run continuously that wastes a lot of water. That is unacceptable when we are dry camping, something we do frequently.
In looking at my heater, it is mounted into a rotocast compartment with no access to the back, bottom, or sides. It slides in from the outside, but I cannot tell if the wiring, propane line, and water lines are flexible and have enough length to allow the unit to slide out and then be disconnected. My plan as of now is to replace the Girard with a unit with at least 10 gallons of capacity. The new unit would also have an electric element allowing us to heat water on campground power when available. Something I miss from my prior Class C units.
Anyone have any idea how to get the heater out? Thanks much!
