We started our trip by arriving at the Billings, MT KOA. Billings is the first KOA & corporate HQ. The next morning our first park visit was the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, just outside of Billings, Montana. On June 25-26, 1876 the US Calvary lost 268 soldiers in this battle, the most famous of course, General Armstrong Custer. This is the memorial marker for Custer's Last Stand. 220 where killed on and around this high ground and it is where Custer died. Originally they buried all where they died and the surrounding area is littered with memorial markers. In 1881 they were all put into a mass grave around this marker. Custer was taken to West Point for his final resting spot.
