What does this do?

The light? Or the camera? The light just shows the camera has power. The camera has a ring of IR lights around it so it can give you a clear picture of what's behind your trailer in daylight or darkness. It's a rear observation/backup camera so you can use it both when driving down the highway or backing into a campsite.
