My wife and I combined are over 400lb and we often end up with a kid or two that would put us over 500lb in the bed and with the fix it is solid.

The plywood was changed out for 1/2" (typo in my original post) and support added at the front wall and near the foot so that the frame is supported instead of just the plywood. When I was thinking about fixing it myself I was going to add a divider wall to partition the under bed storage and the pass through and provide support across the middle of the bed. Don't need it now.

Saw the pics on your queen bed re-build. My wife and I have a combined weight of 500 lbs and wonder if your re-build would support the two of us? Your re-build does not include any support between the middle of the bed and the floor. I was thinking of adding a center column or box for added support. And did you keep the original 3/8 in plywood?
