Yes, particularly if you are staying put. I use tie straps for extra support and stability, but we are always prepared to take it down in case of truely high winds. We picked ours up at the Yuma Flea Market, but you can find them on line.

Hey guys! In one of your pics, I noticed a screen panel attached to the awning. Is this something worth adding? If so, where did you get it? Also, tie straps are used to hold the awning down when windy?
