- About RVMedics1
- Veteran RVer and RV industry professional Chris Dougherty has been around RVs most of his life. Dougherty was 3 in 1973 when he was introduced to RVing in a Winnebago. During that time, Dougherty has seen the best and worst of RVing, having grown up traveling around the country for his family’s horse farm, and having been a full time RVer for ten years. Having owned and worked on just about every type of RV, Dougherty openly uses that knowledge and experience to help people make their RVing experience more enjoyable and fulfilling.
“We have so many wonderful resources in America” Dougherty says, “and RVing is the very best way to experience all of them, or to just get away. It is the quintessential American experience.”
Dougherty recently retired from 23 years in emergency services as both a volunteer and professional firefighter, EMT, fire instructor and fire investigator. In 2003, he founded RV Medics Mobile RV Service in Rhinebeck, New York, which was incorporated in Massachusetts in 2012 as RV Medics LLC of New England, based in Springfield, and serves the 5 state region. Dougherty is an RVDA/RVIA Certified RV Technician, RV industry writer and freelance journalist, and is seen in publications like RV Pro Magazine, Family Motorcoaching Magazine, and online at RVTravel.com, RV Business.com, and now on Examiner.com . With his bride, Karen, and their cat Nipper, Dougherty travels when he can with his 2009 Jayco Eagle SL 5th wheel and 2012 Ford F-350, “But it’s never enough!” he says.
