I agree that the manuals could be a bit more specific. Possibly an addendum for a model line. Eagle, JayFlight, etc.

One of the 'selling points' in the specs is that the by-pass IS installed.

If you have the little buttons, penetrating oil can be your friend. My trailer was a '11 left over, it just needed some oil. I put a few drops directly on the sliding parts, to make things easier.
