Our 2005 31bhds was the same way, we figured it out while installing a new Ac unit. Luckily a tree limb came through it during a storm, and our insurance paid for a new roof that I installed myself....

I just added a set of stabilizers to the center of ours and we use the x chocks I just add an 8" block under each so that I don't have to crank them all the way down. Our camper is on a seasonal site...
