My experience has always been fold down jacks with 2x lumber pieces and rocks.... Sometimes digging a hole if one corner was too low to swing the jack down. :)

We were always more concerned with water quantity. You see, we hauled water from the campground spigot in buckets and filled the tank. The more water you use, the more water you had to haul. :)

They didn't come with smoke detectors and CO detectors back then. My 92 didn't anyway. I'm not saying they aren't a good idea, it'd just there isn't anything to replace.
