Congrats and welcome!! Nothing wrong with testing it out in the back yard at all. We go camping at "Camp Side-A-Garage" almost every Friday night when we aren't actually out camping. :)

Maybe a dumb question, but can you do this while plugged into shore power? Maybe preferred so battery doesn't run down? I have seen this a handful of times and never knew how this I'd done.
