We just used pack and plays until they stopped "swimming" in their sleep. Once they stopped doing laps in their beds, we used bed rails on the bunk beds.

Yes the CAT scales are your friend. With that said, I have a 2005 Titan with the big tow package and it pulls our WhiteHawk 29SQB with no fuss, and we're safely under the limits of the truck.
