I know I am late to this conversation, but maybe it will help someone? I used a swimming pool noodle, with a long horizontal slice in it, so it would "clip" over the wood. I cut it in sections to fit...

Maybe they didn't, but surely they would be able to look at it and tell it had been modified.

Because we have only made a year of payments, we don't have enough equity in it to even trade it in,...
