Only way I know to correct them is to install an aftermarket monitoring system like SeeLevel (sp?). The stock ones are notoriously bad, I find mine can't even be used to ballpark.

Zerk is the name of the fitting that the grease gun goes on. Any grease gun will work. As for grease everyone has their preference but most any high quality grease should work.
