The only time I hook up to the wash out connection is when I go to dump at dump station or right before leaving the park with FHU and cleaning out black tank. No reason to hook to it before then...

Mine was knocked down the other day. The pole was almost rotted off at ground level anyway and we saw the reflector from a mirror near so I think a truck veered to close to the edge of the street...
