Since new I have always left an upside down plastic trash bin over the power tongue jack and bungee corded it around the tongue when it's parked. Keeps water out and everything nice and dry.

I drove and towed with a Ram 3500 with the 6.4L and 4.10 gears. I wasn't really impressed. I found the MDS (shut down half cylinders) to be quite annoying and the low end torque just wasn't there....
