Kielbasa with Jelly...

Here we go People,,,
I have a dish that everyone loves and tries to figure why it taste's so good but usually can't figure why. Buy your best Polish Kielbasa.

I sometimes use a crock pot or sometimes use a deep fry pan. On the grill or stove top its up to you...

Take 2 rings or sticks of keilbasa and slice them up in in 1/2 inch slices.

Take a jar of grape jelly. Yes I said Grape Jelly. Take your favorite BBQ sauce and mix together. Place all in your pot or Crock Pot. Cook on low heat for 3-4 hours if possible. The longer the better...

Plate it up and serve with toothpicks on the side...

Enjoy

I noticed no one has responded to your post, bulldogs116...probably because they don't realize polish kielbasa is polish sausage. We Czech's pronounce it "klobasa".....anyway it's the same thing. We fix ours with purple cabbage, caraway and potatoes. I'm not a cook but the women in the family are...I will sure try what you suggested with the grape jelly. Heck, I will try anything once.

I just now asked Don (the chef of the family) if we used to do kielbasa. He reminded me years ago that this was the horseshoe shaped sausage he'd cook, split open, and make sandwiches out of years ago. I actually forgot about those. Hmmmm, wonder what it would taste like slow cooked with jelly and bbq sauce.... might have to try it!

I was fooled by the title too! I wondered what this "keelbassa" stuff was??

In my neck of the woods, we say, "KOO ba saw". Ah! Koobasaw! Yes, yes! I know what that is!

Mmmm. I just might have to try that! Grape jelly and koobasaw.

In my neck of the woods, it is mostly Portuguese chourico - and it is delicious! Have not tried it with jelly though...

Kielbasa, Klobasa, Koobasaw.....German, Czech, Canadian, Portuguese or Polish....however you pronounce it and whatever you are, it was on my menu last weekend. Forgot the grape jelly so I simply split it down the side, threw it on the grill till the split opened up, doused the split with BBQ sauce and grilled it a while. Ate it with Mac & Cheese and the g-kids were as happy as they could be with POP's cooking.

I have some cooking in the slow cooker right as I type. Yum, smells so good!:drooling:

Edit: Just finished a good bellyful of sausage and rice. Oh man, was that good! Thanks for sharing the recipe. I used Bullseye Honey Garlic sauce, grape jelly, and Mennonite Regular Smoked sausage. Yum.
