Another light bulb question

Hello:
We purchased a 2012 Jayco 29RLDS last year. We are starting to have light bulbs go out. When we take the burnt out one out, look for a number on it to replace it, we aren't finding anything written. The most recent one we had was the outside porch light. Can anyone give us a list of which ones (numbers please) and the voltage? I also noticed that there is an entirely different bulb in the sconce on the wall. Most of the others look the same but are they all a different wattage? I really appreciate any help you can give me. I don't want to put too high of a wattage in the fixtures. We did that with one of the fixtures in our old trailer and it actually melted the fixture and had to be replaced.

Hiya Mary and belated welcome to the JOF! Make sure you contact your dealer about warranty issues... or even contact Jayco directly with issues you have that are ongoing and not resolved (that helped us with some isolated brake issues we had in the first year of owning our tt). Keep coming back with all questions you come up with and share with other members what you learn. Hope it works out for you

Mary they are probably Halogen bulbs.. which means dont touch them with your fingers EVER.. wear gloves or hold them with a Kleenex. The oils from your fingers will etch the glass and cause them to blow out sooner.

No to hijack the thread but on a simillar note, Ive noticed out lights (above beds) seem to be extreamly bright and pretty hot. I too looked but found no numbers on the bulb. I didnt know if they were suppost to be this bright, if being connected to 30A svc, or if the PO had replaced the bulbs with a higher wattage? I would like to replace them with a lower wattage so they arnt as bright.

More than likely, the outside porch light (with amber cover like on mine) it's a 922 bulb.

For the main overhead lights, they probably the standard 921 bulb.

Both are 12V (or perhaps 1-2 volts higher). Neither of them were halogen.

In both cases, it should be written on the inside of the light housing.

Can't speak for the sconce, I don't have any of those.

If your seven pin connector on the tow vehicle has the 12v , 40A connection to the tow vehicle then you will have up to +14.6 vdc at the RV battery while in transit. This condition could reduce the bulb life of the trailer light bulbs when they are left on ( porch light ) while in transit. Make sure you turn off interior and exterior porch lights when in tow, it might help a little.

All the light bulbs are 12 volt except if you have a ceiling fan and that's probably 120 volts. Some are automotive bulbs and some are the G4 hologen bulbs.

I agree with 19H F250 its a good time to start changing to LED lights. They don't get hot and use a 10th of the power.

your ceiling fan may also be 12VDC some are 12VDC so they will work when you are running off the battery only...

My trailer gift box had spare bulbs provided by the dealer in their original packing - might look for that to show you the number...

You can probably just shoot JAYCO an email with your model number and they can tell you... I understand if you give JAYCO your VIN number they will provide you with any and all info on your trailer for the asking... drawings - schematics - etc

I have a 2012 Jayco Bungalow 40fer that I took delivery on July 31st. The "porch light" (round and white) has been on three times and it's burnt out :-( I am having a terrible time trying to figure out what bulb I need to purchase to replace it. I haven't taken the old one out yet, I guess that would be the next step but others are saying that the bulbs don't say what to buy anyway. This sucks, I need this light, it's right next to the stairs.

Check your owners manual. My 2012 owners manual lists the bulbs used in my trailer and this is near the back of the manual.
