Roof Racks

Anybody have a recommendation regarding a roof rack for my Eagle 12 UDK? Nothing crazy, just enough to hold a kayak and some fishing gear.

go to orsracksdirect.com. my 1007 has the tracks already for a rack system . if not you can buy the tracks and then get the system that suits you. i think for mine the cost for a package is around 250 for a base system with the bars. then you need attachments for bikes or kayaks or whatever you have.

Jason,

My 1207 had racks down each side that were made for Thule (I think) products. I wanted to make a rack out of aluminum and ended selling the PUP before it got done. I wasn't able to find a T-head bolt to fit the tracks, but a carriage bolt (I don't remember the size) fit the track by grinding some off both sides. The flat sides also kept the bolt from turning.

... don't know if you're a DIYer, but if you are it's not difficult make a customized rack. Good luck.

I found the t-head bolts at my local bicycle dealer for a Thule rack. They fit the rails on my 1206 just right.

I found a design on the Pop up owners forum a while back.
No drilling into your roof, was attached with SS cable and some brackets.
I made mine out of like 2" aluminum C channel. Fits my mountain bike tires perfect as is, then I made some insets out of treated 2x4's
that fit my road bike tires.
The design is also good for lawn chairs etc if not hauling bikes.

I'd attach some pictures, but the new buyer just picked it up last night.

Best regards,
Doug
