How to make a rotating RV flagpole

First to build this flag pole you need a materials list. All of the items below can be found at your local home center or hardware store. Total cost under $20
 1 – 10 foot long piece of 3/4″ pvc pipe
 1 – 45 degree 3/4″ pvc fitting
 1 – 3/4″ pvc T fitting
 2 – 3/4″ pvc end caps
 2- 2 ½”x1/8” carriage bolts stainless (don’t rust)
 2-1/8” Nuts stainless and 2 flat washers for flag end of bolt
 1-3’x5’ US Flag (Make sure flag has grommet holes for carriage bolts to attach to pole)
 1 – 2 foot long piece of concrete rebar (or any metal stake that fits inside your pvc pipe)
 1-25MM socket from your tool box or just buy one a cheep one is under $5
Now that we have the material we can get to work. Take the ten foot long piece of pvc pipe and cut it into two four foot long piece and two two foot long pieces. The cuts in pvc can be made using a simple hack saw or you can use a powered miter saw with the appropriate blade. Drill holes for bolts, drill so the flag will be taught not bowing in the middle.
Now assemble as shown in the pdf picture but pull flag taught so it don't sag as in the picture. DO NOT GLUE together (easy to take apart for transport)
To get flag to rotate you pound the 2 foot rebar 10 inches into the ground then slip 25MM socket over, then place flag pole into the bottom. You have just made a rotating flag pole. Enjoy

Here's a couple links to a PVC drying rack if you're interested.

You can do a lot of things with PVC pipe. The possibilities are as limitless as the imagination.

A simple and nice looking mod to make is to add two 20 watt solar lights at the top using a "T".

After a day of letting the batteries get a charge, the flag looks like this:

I made the base for my satellite dish out of PVC.
For my drying rack, I have a piece of 3/4" PVC that I clamp into my bike rack.

Rodro123.......
You asked me to post a link for the lights. I purchased them at Home Depot about two years ago. I have searched home Depot website and can not locate the lights I have, but click on this link:
http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...atalogId=10053

The lights come in a 2-Pack like this one. The are black in color like this one. They have the solar panel with two batteries on top per light like this one. They cost about the same as this one, but these are not the lights I am using. If I find the exact lights, I will post it here. I hope the link above gives you a general idea about the ones I have, but make sure the lights are 20 watts each. Any light with lower wattage just does not give enough light.

I have done some more research and found a link to Amazon that seem to have the lights. I say seem because they look just like the ones I am using, but I can not find any specs to say these are 20 watts per light.
Try searching for "Paradise GL23836BK2 Plastic Solar Spot Light, 2-Pack, Black"

I hope this helps you little more.

UPDATE:

The lights I am using are made by Westinghouse. They are "Westinghouse Solar Torpedo Spot Light".
They are no longer available at Home Depot. If you have a Menards near you, they are available there.
http://www.menards.com/main/outdoor/...033-c-6400.htm

According to some web searches, they are also available at Sears.
Here is a photo of 1 light, but they come in a 2-pack for about $8.00 for the two.

These also have an ON/OFF switch located under the solar panel. I shut them OFF when I store them between camping trips.
As a side note, I replaced the lower capacity rechargerable batteries with higher capacity rechargeable batteries rated at 1650mA.
