Iceberg: I say NO

TV-GVWR 9500 + TT-GVWR 12,955 = GCWR 22495
Silverado says GCWR 20500 So the law says you can't

you have 2100lbs payload left (assuming you weighed the truck with fuel and the entire family??? If family is not in there, need to add them as well). The dry pin weight is 1835...that means nothing..your hitch will weigh at least 100lbs...lets say you end up with the rig weighing 11k lbs..meaning very little water in the tanks...your pin weight will likely be 2200lbs minimum..if the family was in the truck when you weighed it, you are likely to be a couple hundred over payload...if not, then it is even worse. Not grossly overloaded, but you are over IMO...FWIW

Looks to me like you are ok. Cat scale GVW = 7480 + 5er GVWR 12995 = 20475lb
Of course the dry weight is 10305 so you may not get to 12995. With about 1000lbs your 5er would weight about 11300 plus add for the batteries and water so you may push 12000. That leaves about 1000 lbs for passengers and other stuff. Load her up and head to the Cat scale again. But I think you will be ok. The real question is are you comfortable with it?

Thanks

Thanks guys for taking the time to square me away.

The Cat scale weights of the truck included a full tank of fuel and the whole family. I could lighten it a bit by removing the tailgate and conventional receiver too. Maybe 100 lbs between the two?

Thanks,
Steve

Take also in consideration that all the weight ratings has to within their limits.
Means GCWR, GVWR's and GAWR's.

I never would go over a 40 - 60 ratio with TV - TT
How shorter the distance of the Ball to the TV Rear Axle how better it is.
With a 5er the ratio is 35 - 65 with Class 8 it is even higher

Did you pick up this trailer or find something else? This is a few months old but I would say you will definitely be over payload with that combo.

9500-7480=2020lbs payload left

10686 sticker weight + 1000lbs of stuff = 11686 * 20% = 2337lbs hitch weight

Let us know what you ended up going with and your cat scale weights if you get them.

Cheers

No, didn't get the big one. We ended up getting the Eagle HT 29.5FBDS. I feel much better knowing I'm well within the safety margin with this light trailer. The 2015 Eagle 345BHDS is sure sweet though. That added, as mandatory options, auto-leveling system, fireplace, and full size tub/shower. This just added way too much weight for me to feel comfortable pulling it with my truck, which I would have been pushing anyway, so I went with our 2nd choice, the HT. We have completed the acceptance inspection and have it winterized and stored at the dealer. Looking forward to taking it out on a check ride once the snow melts but the way this winter is going that might be the 4th of July.

I sure do appreciate all of the help you and everyone else here has given me with determining my weights. I'm sure I'll be looking for answers to a bunch more questions as time goes on.
Thanks,
Steve
