Just wondering if anyone out there has a suspension lift on their truck, and did you have to do any adjustments to your trailer. Here is a pic of my 2010' F-350 Harley with a 6" suspension lift(4' in rear), pulling our old 29' Open Road, my truck is lifted because I do most of my work off road and it makes it easier to plow through the mud and the cleaning after is easy too. The new Pinnacle 36' will be 6 feet longer than this one in the pic, come spring. My hitch is a 17k DSP (Max Vehicle pulled 17,000 lbs) Slider and adjusts up and down, in this picture it is in full extended mode, so I didn't have to remove the box rails, but notice the angle of the trailer, not that great. I will remove the rails and drop the hitch 3" this spring for sure. What are your thoughts?

You definitely want to level your 5er, to hard on the rear part of the suspension. You do not want blowouts on your trips. There is always a trade off by raising your truck suspension. You always can raise your 5er too. You have a good adjustable hitch and are able to avoid damage to the truck box.

Yes, I agree, even when I remove the rails I think I may still have an angle problem, leaving to much weight to the rear suspension. I guess I will have to hook up and see how it looks, then see if the trailer can be lifted a bit to even out the ride. The 4" and a couple more from the larger tires, probably 6" in total from a factory ride, is too much for the hitch to compensate. Hopefully they can raise the trailer suspension at least 3-4" to compensate the ride, we never went far with this unit, had it on a lake lot for the last 6 years, but plan to move around a lot more in this one. I guess one thing that could concern me, is if Jayco would void any warranty that could be related to raising of the units suspension.

That angle puts too much weight on the rear trailer axle so if you can drop the hitch lower or raise the suspension of the trailer...

You Cant drop the hitch any lower or you will be sitting on your bed rails but you should be able to raise the trailer by ether blocks or reversing your axles I did that on a old trailer and got 2 to 3 inches lift on the trailer

How has lift affected towing performance of the truck? When you increase the wheel/tire size you are effectively reducing the final drive ratio. If you had 4.10 you might have the equivant of 3:42 now with bigger tires and lift.

I have had several lifted trucks, I still really like the looks and function when off-road, but started keeping them stock as I started towing a lot heavier and more often. In fact on my Duramax the most I did was went from 245 75r16 to 265 75r16 -- and mathematically even this small change had about a 4% negative affect on the final drive.

Regardless I think your truck looks great with that stance. If the performance meets your needs I am sure you can have your 5t lifted a bit to even it out.

I agree that my tire size 35" is stealing some power. This Open Road unit was 11,300 lbs dry and my 6.7 Powerstroke Ford would pull it like it wasnt there, never did get a chance in the bigger mountains ranges yet though. The Pinnacle should come in at 12,300 dry weight, with a pin weight of 300 more pounds,at 2300 lbs, so hopefully it will manage the load increase. As far as the ride, never really notice a big difference with the lifted truck, seemed to handle pretty good for a bigger load. I hope the Mor-Ryde tongue gives it a little dampener for the road heaves. I will seek a solution to level out the trailer, so to not put strain on rear suspension.

You should just flip your axles on the trailer, it'll add about 4 inches lift to your trailer. I have several friends who have done this

I have a lifted f350 and my 5th wheel has been lifted to fit under my truck. I used the brackets that were already in place from jayco and I lowered the hitch in my truck down one bolt hole. I lost some clearance between the bed and the 5th wheel but it rides level.

Did you find adjustment in the factory trailer suspension? I will remove my box rails that you can see in the pic, lower my hitch, that will give me 3" of safe clearance on an uneven road if trailer dips from side to side, could use another 3" to get level I bet.

I have an 03 F350 with a leveling kit. I went from a 285/75/16 to a 35/12.50/18 tire this year. I raised my 5th wheel using the brackets the springs bolt to. I guess these brackets are almost like a shackle having 3 different holes to adjust the height. Mine was set on the lowest, I moved it to the middle hole and now ride level. Our 5th wheel is an 06 eagle.

If you have the same setup as ours you can gain a few inches in height. Maybe 3 or 4. We have 16" tires on the 5th wheel. I don't know if that's what it came with or not.

I am running 35/12.50R18's as well and I also used the holes provided from jayco. I lowered my springs to the bottom hole and no my 5er rides pretty close to level. If I load the truck and run zero air in my rear bags it will ride level.

my HT doesnt have that, but i was at the dealer and they were saying that mor-ryd has something that can lift them, not sure what it was cause the parts guy got a phone call and i had to leave but im going to get the info cause i need mine to be higher
