First time owners

My wife, after looking for nearly four months, finally found a PUP that she liked, a 2008 1206. They are very hit-or-miss in out area and actually don't come up for sale that often.

We picked it up yesterday after the previous owner had some work done to it (AC, water heater, furnace, plumbing checked, new battery and 7-pin connector, new break away brake unit, new propane/CO detector, and a small piece of aluminum on the top edge of the travel door as supposedly it would come open while moving). We actually picked it up from the camper repair place so we know what was done to it. Still need to add some new tires, have the bearings/seals replaced, and get an electric brake controller installed in our pickup. Even with the things that need to be done it looks to be in good shape and we got a good deal on it because the PO needed out of the lien he had on it.

I have a couple questions about some repairs that need to be done and some accessories my wife has looked at (this is her baby), but I'll post those elsewhere on the forum.

I wouldn't congratulate us just yet.

Well, we put it diagonally across our driveway and leveled as best we could and put it up. Went easy as pie, till we went to put the door in. The roof was a little low yet and the tension cable wasn't extremely tight or anything, so I had my wife stand inside and I cranked it up just until the slide bolts that hold the top of the door would just barely catch the door plate (like catch it by 1/16" is all). The tension cable got taught, but again not extremely so, and I gave it the one more crank to bring it high enough to fit the door. Bam. Tension cable popped out at the roof connection. I went around and measured from the bottom edge of the roof to the top of the cap that goes around the bottom 1/2 of the trailer and the door side of the trailer matched within an 1/8" or so, but the other side was about 3/4" lower on both lifters. The tension cable didn't make a sound as the screw came out and the screw head looked like it's been hit with a screwdriver a time or two, so we're wondering if it wasn't already stripped out of the wood. Either way we're going to have to take it in and have the roof leveled and the height adjusted. It just looks like the roof should go up another inch or so to really have the slide bolts catch the top plate of the door correctly. Right now they just catch right at the corner like this (sorry my phone is dead or I'd snap a pic).
