Favorite Restaurants While on the Road

Thanks to JaycoJeeper for the Idea for this thread...

What are your favorite restaurants/diners that you have discovered over the years in your travels? I thought it would be nice to compile a list of names and areas as a resource for those who may be traveling to a new area or while passing through.

I'll start....

1) Cucina Giovanni St. Augustine Florida. Italian Restaurant, Catering Service | St. Augustine, FL. Highway 16 next to the outlet mall and not too far from Camping world. Amazing Italian food. Parking lot is not big rig friendly, but worth the effort to stop if you don't have your trailer in tow.

2) Millbrook Diner Rt. 44 Millbrook NY. Millbrook Diner - Home
Actual dining car. Great Omelets for breakfast.

3) George's Restaurant Glenwood Park Ave Erie PA. Not to far from Erie Zoo. Best fried potatoes I've ever had.

I love Cracker Barrel, Golden Corral and IHOP, but I think your were looking for a non chain type of place.

I have a restaurant behind my truck. Never a line, can order anything I want 24 hours a day. I know the quality of the food I’m being served. Never over priced. I just pull over anywhere.

Favorite Restaurants While on the Road

Wild oaks Grill, Port Orford Oregon. Big empty lot across the street made it easy for our truck and travel trailer. Great BBQ, different specials every day. And very Veteran friendly.

We have enjoyed visiting probably 20 - 25 restaurants from Diners Drive Inns and Dives.. There is a site called Flavortown that lists them all by state and specialty. But, as others have said, we prefer to cook out own. Better quality, less expensive and tipping the cook is actually fun

X2 on Cracker Barrel

We've not yet found one that doesn't have RV/trailer parking... simple, quick and easy, usually reliable food, so we can sit nd eat and then be on the road again.
We have learned, however, never to go there on a Sunday lunchtime.. they seem very popular with the "lunch after church" set.

We travel to the Everglades and the Keys each year in February and always stop at Dixie Crossroads in Titusville. Rock shrimp.

Pineridge Hollow, Birds Hill Provincial Park, Manitoba
White Lake Resort, Whiteshell Provincial Park, Manitoba

Whenever we're camping in these areas, we always make plans to go there for breakfast.

Growing up in Fl and spending so much time fishing at the coast I'm starting to think I missed out on something by never goin to Dixie Crossroads.

#1 without question is the Maine Diner, on US 1 in Wells, ME.
Others we have loved:
Boothbay Lobster Wharf, and the Lobster Dock, both in Boothbay Harbor, ME. Robinson's Wharf, Southport, ME.
Piccini Wood Fired Brick Oven Pizza, Ocean City, NJ.
Apple Valley Family Restaurant, Milford, PA.
Almost anything in Lancaster County, PA, especially Good 'N Plenty Restaurant. Bullfrog Inn, Georgetown, Lancaster County - Must have Mom's Crab Bisque.
Mt. Gretna Hide-A-Way, Mt. Gretna, PA.

I'll probably think of more later. Happy travels!

Roger

Honest, the first thing that sprang to mind was, Kroger, Meijer, Piggly Wiggly, Walmart, etc.. When traveling with our trailer, we seldom do restaurants.

So, I'm no help here.
