Think you have water leak and that is causing dampness. I have stsnd up shower. Silicone at factory all around surround. If you look under it, more than enough opening to provide air flow. The access hole for water lines alone is like 4-6 inch hole. More than enough gap to get air in behind surround

Floor

I was just about to go nuts with caulking in the bathroom when I decided I should check the internet first. I wasn’t going to do inside the shower yet. But I was planning to do the floor between the floor and shower and around the toilet. Does this mean I should not do either of those areas either?
Should I do around the toilet? I’m very confused now. Thank you

Just my opinion; No, not necessary to caulk those areas. The toilet has its own seal and won't leak if installed correctly. Plus, you may find it necessary to remove the toilet in the future for various maintenance issues. In six years of use I've removed mine twice to install new seals.
