X18D Clothing Storage Space the final frontier

I hate wasted space and I think the TV platform was a leftover in my unit from the large tube TV. So they took the flat screen and mounted it in the middle of the same space. So I built a box with a permanent shelve. Made 4 drawers with some cheep board, tape, hot glue gun and some material from the fabric store discount rack. Then installed the box and mounted a locking cantilever mount to the box to lock in place the TV for travel and extend when parked.

I think they look great! Good job of using up that empty space. What did you create to prevent the drawers from coming open while traveling?

Nothing yet. We just lay them on couch. I was wanting to add a piece of quarter round on the bottom edge however the wife thought it might be a nuisance lifting to pull out the drawer, and since packing the shower bags is her department is let her decide. I also thought about running a couple of dowels the I would install during travel however not been an issue. I just tote in before a trip and she packs and then tote them out to the TT.

What about using those spring-loaded adjustable refrigerator rods; or a spring-loaded adjustable curtain rod. Looks like you have enough room in front of the drawers to run them between the walls of your box.
