Ordered Our New Jay Flight!

We sold our 2000 Jayco Qwest 244B trailer last Friday and placed an order for a 2015 26BHS yesterday. We opted for Aluminum Siding, 15K BTU AC, Elite Package with Hide-a-Bed, Aluminum Rims, Electric Stabilizers, Technology Package, Thermal Package and Outside Grill. Also getting two 6 volt batteries (just my preference) and a great price on a 1200/12000 equalizer hitch that will be installed when we pick it up. Can't wait to get it and to go camping!

Thanks. This will be our first brand new trailer. We first had a 1999 Coleman tent trailer and then moved to the 2000 Jayco. Both were great, but about 10 years old when we got them. I must say that the 2000 Jayco did not have any problems...even at 14 years old! That's why we are getting a Jayco this time. The kids simply outgrew the small bunks.

Called Jayco today. It has been 10 weeks since we ordered our Jay Flight 26BHS. I have received mixed info from our dealer regarding the status of our order so I called Jayco directly. I was quickly transferred to the order management department. They were very friendly and informed me that the unit was built, but they were waiting on the sofa. Unfortunately, manufacturing is closed this week so they can't tell me when the sofa will be available until next week. It seems odd that they would build the trailer without the sofa being available. I hope this isn't a sign that there were other problems with the unit...I am a bit worried. I hope everything is in great shape when the unit finally gets here. Someone else on this forum ordered the same trailer at the same time I did. He already picked his up last week. I will probably be waiting at least another two weeks before I get mine. I'm a little disappointed.

Dear God, First off be thankful that the unit was built before the sofa arrived other wise you would be waiting a hell of a lot longer than the two weeks you mentioned. Sport you need to relax and stop letting your imagination run wild on you and just let the folks a Jayco do their job. I'm sure you will be the first to know when your trailer is ready for pick up.

I am also chomping at the bit.
My rig went in on Nov 8 for repairs. Parts ordered but still waiting on 3 more parts before the work can start. I went up there the week before Christmas and brought it home until they are ready.

I know what your feeling. We ordered ours in Nov and it is supposed to be delivered the end of Dec. but the dealer is closed the end of Dec, so due to our work schedule it's gonna be mid Jan before we can pick it up. But it's not like we will use it sooner. The wait is killing me!!

Just busting your chops.LOL Your fortunate to be able to camp year round so I can see why your eager. My sister and brother in law ordered a Prime Time Avenger last April and didn't take delivery on it until mid July. Even I felt bad for them.I just kept telling them they should have bought a Jayco. LOL

interesting timeline questions

60-90 days at year -end may be reasonable to complete a custom order....what was your expectation for this delivery?

I wonder what are best case scenarios for a new trailer order. Maybe its best to order in January? Which month is best I wonder?

I figured this time of year wouldn't be too busy for them and it would take approx. 6-8 weeks. I didn't really consider manufacturing being closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. I'm sure it will be worth the wait, though!

i feel your pain.

after ordering our 2011 and given a date when it would be built and delivered it never showed up at the dealer. after our dealer called the factory numerous times jayco admitted it had been built but it was sitting on the lot due to they did not have the decals for the one side. so there it sat... dealer tried to have them ship it anyway and then when decals were ready the dealer would install them. jayco refused and there it sat. a few campground reservations cancelled and a lot of fretting but we finally received the camper and everything was good. everything worked out ok and the trailer was great.
it was frustrating knowing the unit was built and sitting there. sorry about the wait but hopefully that will be the best sofa you ever sat on!
