Mustang, I like that air horn plan. I will look into getting one just in case. I started to set my truck alarm off and just let it blast.

If it's tenters being rude and raising the roof until the wee hours that don't want to play nice after you try to talk kindly to them and you don't want to involve the police, team up with the other neighbors the next morning and have their kids bounce a football or Frisbee of their tent repeatedly while you blast a little Hendrix, Who or Metallica in their direction making it impossible for them to get any peace & quiet to sleep off their hangovers. They'll get the message and quiet down the next night. The only time I won't bother them or complain is if it's a group of veterans getting together for a weekend meet up & retreat. Those folks deserve a break!

With these types of issues it is often best to do a quick risk/reward analysis. Mostly it is just my wife and I camping and to put our safety at risk by getting into a beef with a group of noisy campers may not be worth it.

Large groups fuelled with alcohol can become dangerous and a "mob" mentality can soon set in. Be careful and choose your battles wisely.

I have to agree with that. It's nice to think about all these revenge ideas, but for me, I'll be traveling by myself and would probably just suck it up (to a point) and leave in the morning. Would rather be friendly even with annoying people and have someone to watch my stuff while I;m off riding the bike or boating around.(and hope they aren't thieves as well as noisy )

The Alabama Legislature passed, and the Gov signed into law, HB 555 (2021 Reg Session) that authorizes any law enforcement officer to remove a person from an RV park upon the request of the RV park operator if the person is being disruptive or engaging in criminal activity. If the person doesn't leave after notice, the cops are expressly authorized to escort them out.

Bagpipes!
Just kidding - I'm in the diplomatic camp. That, or earplugs and run the air conditioner on high camp.

I am a horrible person. I used to send my kids to play in the street right in front of the offender. 7 am sharp. They could get pretty loud when cash is involved.

I spent two days last week trying to figure out which campsite the loud music with the thumping bass was coming from. As a campground host I usually pass off dealing with infractions to one of the rangers, but I was in a bad mood from hearing the loud music so I had a talk with the camper myself.

He was very nice, and apologized, and I only heard the loud music when he was driving in or out of his site. And I was nice to him too, and didn't let my bad mood show.

Best bet in my opinion regarding loud campers is to let campground staff, whether the host, an employee or a ranger know. There are campground rules about sound levels and quiet times, and the staff is there to enforce them.

Where I'm at now, the rule is that music has to be at a level low enough that the campers next door can't hear it. But basically, if it's not bothering me personally I'll just respond to complaint from other campers.

This is am old post.

We have a hybrid. Generally speak we have not had to much noise issues. My DW is a very light sleeper. We wakes up to tje slightest change in sound. Sometimes kids that are early risers she finds a bit annoying. But they are having fun and are happy, so she shrugs it off.

Our worst offenders was at the West Glacier KOA. No parties, not kids. Elderly with big diesel class A pushers. We were put in a site, where there was nothing but big class A's a cross from us
All the rigs in our island where tts. Every morning around 5 - 5:30 one would be preparing to hitting the road. They would start it up, and let the diesel idle for 30 plus minutes. As they would work on putting stuff away. All while the diesel was just idling.

I overnighted at a truck stop one time while on the road and the diesel next to me kept cycling on and off all night long. I stuffed earplugs in my ears and that helped a lot. Not a good campground solution, but I always have ear plugs handy.
