Installing new batteries vent required?

Hello hello, I'm doing a battery upgrade for my Dad's 5th wheel, installing 4 new Trojan T-105's to replace the 2 stock ones. I've done this for my trailer already but mine are on the outside.

Being a 5th wheel with the batteries inside the front compartment, I need to know how absolutely important is it that they are in those vented boxes?

I certainly can get two more of those vented boxes for $60 but having a major being ripped off feeling for what's nothing more than molded plastic.

Thanks

No boxes in mine. Our battery compartment is itself vented and has straps attached to the floor for strapping down. Our batteries are AGM's (sealed) but even the original install from the dealer consisted of 2 lead-acid batts strapped down without boxes. HTH

Awesome, thank you. The compartment is vented, that's what led me to believe the whole vented box was probably just over kill, the entire compartment already had vents.

That makes it a ton easier for me to get this done. I can now just pick up some battery trays, mount those to the floor of the compartment and then the batteries will be secure.

thanks!

Same on our 2011 Eagle 5er. My batteries do sit in a plastic tray about 1 in. Tall
