Well I just bought the "drill-end" pump at Home Depot for $10! Since I'll have to refill the tanks tomorrow or Wednesday, I'll let everyone know how it works out.

When camping in the Qartzsite desert, I'd fill up a few 5 gallon buckets with water at the spigots, drive back, then set one of them up on a rung of my step ladder, leaning up against my tt.

Using a 1/2 inch ID vinyl tube, I'd start a siphon flow and stick the tube into the tank fill port. As it empties, I'd dump more water from the other 5 gal containers until all had flowed into the TT tanks.

Works for me, but it's a struggle. But then I like a challenge.

And it's much easier than breaking camp and driving the tt to the spigots.

I bought a blue aqua-tainer with the spigot. The threads are the same as a hose end so I sacrificed a water hose, cutting the end off and without the female end the hose slides right into the gravity fill inlet. Place the aqua-tainer on the back of the pickup and let gravity siphon do the work. LOOK MA! NO HANDS!

Tried out the new "drill-end" pump yesterday afternoon. Seemed to work great for about the first gallon. Ran into a snag, though: The 3/8" tubing that came with it was coiled so tightly for packaging, that it kept recoiling and finding its way to the top of the water jug and sucking up air. Burned up the pump in about 30 seconds. Of course, the 90 day warranty has an exclusion for running it dry, so $10 down the drain.

Oh well . . .

Bought a water pump from harbor freight and all my problems were solved. Now just need to get a truck box to install where the battery box is and make a permanent water transfer station. .
