Awning Adjustment

I thought I saw this topic awhile back in the forum but I can't remember. My awning comes straight out from the trailer, its got to be right at 90 degrees. Is there a way while chocked to adjust this to an angle it will drain off after a rain shower??

My 2012 has a carefree of Colorado elec awning. There are press in retention buttons on the support arms that let you change the pitch of one side or the whole thing. I have five settings to choose from...I believe however the Manual said not to have for than 3 positions different between sides.

From reading other posts, some of the older electric awnings are non-adjustable but they should have a rain dump feature to expel any collected water. The newer awnings have an adjustable pitch along with the rain dump feature.

I can't get a picture right now, but if you pull down on the arm from the awning (it almost looks like it has a hand grip on the end) that will demonstrate the rain dump feature. You pull down on the lower part that is mounted to the wall of the camper.

It will dump at one edge or the other.... HOWEVER it will wait until your wife, child, or you are standing there before it does that.... :lightning:

The dump feature will work, you just have to have faith. You can also pull down on the arm and cause it to dump. My son does this so it will dump where he wants it.

Yeah, picture this..... "Look everyone, an EAGLE!" :hihi:

I looked and the awning doesn't have a handle, this is the automatic one that just rolls on out. I will wait until the next rain and see what happens! :lightning:

While we are on this topic, last trip we pitched the awning at an angle due to showers. We used the retention pins on the arms as stated above. Keep it that way most of the weekend. Not much wind to speak of, however, once we were home I rolled out the electric awning to let dry. When I went to roll it in, I noticed that there was a wobble in the mechanism that was on the down side when tilted. Could it be possible that I may have bent the nipple that extends into the mechanism? Has anyone else come across this problem? The rig is a hybrid x23j.
